About Wrocław
 
Wrocław is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Poland. It has a rich and moving history dating back to the times before the Piast dynasty. The city was founded at the turn of the 9th and 10th centuries, and its greatest economic and cultural development ocurred between the 13th and 16th centuries. Wrocław abounds in numerous monuments from the Middle Ages. Among them, it is woth mentioning the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Old Town Hall and fragments of the city walls.

There are many tourist attractions in Wroclaw that attract Polish and foreign tourists. During your visit to Wroclaw, it is worth seeing:
 
  • the Market Square, surrounded by historic tenement houses, where the Old Town Hall is located;
  • the historic district of Wroclaw - Ostrów Tumski – where you can admire the St. John the Baptist Cathedral and other churches and monuments;
  • the impressive building designed by Max Berg - the Centennial Hall - which is listed by UNESCO;
  • the National Museum, which includes exhibits representing all fields of art, from medieval sculpture, Silesian, Polish and European painting through modern and modernist sculpture, as well as other works;

  • the monumental oil painting - Raclawice Panorama - which depicts the Battle of Raclawice;
  • the Wroclaw's dwarves - more than 400 small figures that have become a symbol of the city.
 


Wroclaw looks beautiful in autumn, especially in October.
